From Lyndsay:

"I truly believe in helping families on their homeschooling journeys.  I homeschool my own children because it is what's best for our family. I strive to help other families feel confident about homeschooling.

After working with children professionally for over 10 years, I was working in an after school program in Denver and met a child who changed my life.  She was in the process of being adopted and had been through very difficult things.  She acted out but she was just hurting and needed friends.  She was injured in class and I found her wandering the halls because the teacher, in frustration with a child she deemed difficult, had kicked her out of class. She was in second grade.  She was actually very hurt and needed medical attention.  When I approached the teacher and explained that the child was injured she stated that she didn't care because the little girl was crazy.  I was so shocked that a teacher would speak about a child I loved that I just turned and left the room.  What surprised me more was that are the people we're supposed to leave our children with; people who have no sympathy and don't care about a child because they're difficult to deal with.  This wasn't the first incident with this teacher where she showed that she didn't care at all about this child's background and she just needed some understanding.  That night I went home and enrolled in college because I knew that I could be a great educator."
